I am VERY impressed with your 4th of July strip to honor America. What impresses me the most is that you left UNDER GOD in the pledge.

Just wanted to say how much I enjoy Baldo, and that I loved your July 4th Baldo comic. Diversity is truly a strength of our nation!

    Dear Baldo (and authors),

I am impressed by the humanity and insight in your comic strip daily. I wrote once
before to thank you for your WWII veteran episode. I’m now writing to thank you for
your moving and inspirational July 4, 2010 Independence Day single frame. Thank you
for giving all Americans respect and pride, and for portraying us all in solidarity,
    giving respect to our country.

    Sincerely,

    Paul Marshall

Your strip was the only strip in my newspaper, The Palm Beach Post, that had the
true meaning of why we celebrate this day. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!

Thank you Thank you Thank you. Although I often think about responding to many
items in newspapers, I usually procrastinate and end up not doing it.. However,
today I wanted to make sure I followed through as I felt you deserve positive
feedback for your strip in today’s Sunday paper (Boston Herald).

Happy July 4th and God Bless You!

In your July 4th strip, you presented a wide cast of characters that apparently was
meant to represent the white, black, Asian, and Hispanic members of this society.
However, it seems that as inclusive as you are when it comes to ethnicity, your
respect for other people does not extend to atheists. I do not understand why
people insist on repeating a pledge that blatantly and deliberately insults
atheists. Given Mr. Newdow’s actions, people like you no longer have the excuse of
ignorance; it can only be a deliberate choice to ignore the basic human dignity of
other people. By now, anyone who has been paying any attention at all has been
given an opportunity to reflect on how absolutely offensive and inappropriate it is
to suggest that a particular group are not “real Americans”; given that you are, I
assume, Hispanic, one might expect you to be more sensitive regarding restrictive
ideas about who is and is not considered to be a full citizen. The
Fourth of July is supposed to be a celebration of freedom and equality, not an
opportunity to to disparage various groups that you do not consider to be full
    members of the community.

I love this July 4 strip. I think it is one of the best ever! It represents what the U.S.A is all about. All creeds, all races, all nationalities under one flag. No hyphenated Americans. Just plain Americans. Thanks for a great birthday “comic”.

Keep drawing these the great strips!
